From
the Box:
This is the story of an adventure. Not a Hollywood special-effects-blockbuster
adventure, but rather the kind of adventure that real people can
get into. You just have to be willing…
SHARE THE ROAD is a unique documentary from Cirque
Productions. Four different narrators each give their own distinct
perspectives while biking across North America, camping in town
parks, meeting Americans of all creeds, and living a dream. Epic
scenery and an all original soundtrack will carry you from ocean
to ocean, and south to Mexico. Travelers beware! This film may cause
your heart to soar, your mind to wander, and your job to appear
more boring.
Back Story:
After completing a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail and the documentary
of that trip, The Cirque team began planning for their next film
project. The seed for a long-distance bicycling trip had been planted
years before by a friend, Hans Bern Bauer. A New England rock climbing
pioneer and adventure traveler, Hans related the stories from his
bike trips in the US and South America to the Cirque team, and the
boys were sold. Many of their new friends from the AT joined the
plan throughout 2002, as the route – Maine to Washington,
then south to Mexico – was planned, with a little help from
Adventure Cycling Association. By spring of 2003, the bikes were
in order, the day jobs had been quit, and Bike America 2003 was
ready to roll. Epic biking ensued…

Probably the most surprising thing when you bike for 6200
miles across a country is the diversity of scenery that
you encounter. You pretty much cover it all from deseret
to mountain to plateau and back to coast. This trailer gives
you a bit of an idea of what the BikeAmerica2003 crew encountered
along the way.
